A guest brought over these bluebells, and I loved them so much that I wanted to ‘immortalise’ them before they wilted. This makes me realise, that perhaps the habit of photographing cut flowers comes from a desire to preserve them?

Unfortunately I had not noticed that the vase was covered with greasy fingerprints until after I looked at the photo - and it is now too late to retake it. But at least the shot accurately captures the messy, careless nature of my kitchen.. and mental space.
