Balance Trike

The spring before my daughter turned 2, I bought her a Dutch balance cycle. The idea is: It starts out as a tricycle, then the rear end converts to a bicycle. She scoots along on it pretty quickly, but almost seems to have outgrown it already. Not in terms of size, but in terms of wanting to use a real bicycle, with pedals.

We do have a ‘proper’ bicycle with training wheels waiting for her. But for now her legs are too short to actually push the pedals. So in the meantime the balance trike works nicely, even if she does seem to get bored of it after zooming around for a while.

Zoom! Shortly after I took these photos a hail storm descended upon us. I had to carry both the trike and the Mousey over my shoulder, shoving the camera under my coat.
